The Difference is a 5 piece metal band hailing from the "Meetjesland" area in Belgium (Flanders). The band's musical style is a unique blend of progressive and melodic metal with passionate and powerful vocals. It's really hard to define the music of The Difference but we like to call it "Different Metal". Feel free to navigate in the menu, where you can find more information. 

We finished our newest album “When light uncovers grey” in which we have experimented in different ways. In order for you to hear the quality of the music, you can download a song for free on our homepage. This track “Time” from our 4th demo has been recorded for the second time and is not on the “When light uncovers grey” album.

Some sad news, as a lot of people probably have heard our drummer Edward has decided to leave the band. No hard feelings were involved in his decision although we all really regret the choice that's been made. Edward was a great drummer to work with and incredible live on stage. It's a big loss for the band and we truly going to miss him at rehearsals and on stage. We wish him all the best in his future life. If you still want to catch him somewhere on stage you should attend a show of his other (death)metalband Solifugia.

But luckily it's not all sad news. At this moment we are rehearsing with another drummer by the name of  Anthony Jonckheere. Anthony has been playing for several years in various metal and metal cover bands.

We know it's not an easy task to replace Edward so we wish him good luck with this hard job.
We've had already some rehearsals and things are looking pretty well. First show with Anthony will be Sunday Mai 23. in Boekel (NL) at "het Knipoogfestival"

Bram who's residing in Poland at the moment (for his studies) will be coming back especially for the show in Holland. (and because he misses the Belgian beer:))
